BATIK EXPERIMENTS
I was looking for alternatives for fabric dye so I started experimenting with rust dying.

I wanted to rust my own objects but unfortunately that didn't work out at first try, so I putted my fabric (which where drenched with water and vinegar) on top of this rusty old barbecue.
Recipe:

50 ml hydrogen peroxide
23 ml vinegar
1 tablespoon salt
Recipe:

50 ml hydrogen peroxide
20 ml vinegar
1/2 tablespoon salt
Recipe:

just hydrogen peroxide
on a layer of vinegar
Recipe:

60 ml hydrogen peroxide
10 ml vinegar
super much salt
I wanted to recreate a screen print screen with templates, but it didn't work out as i wanted. The wax was still bleeding through the rest of the fabric
Instead of dying my fabric in cold water I putted my batik fabrics right in the boiling water, which caused the wax to release a little and create nice patterns in my waxed parts
Here I laid wax on my fabric and putted it between the heat press. Even when you think you can really shape and regulate how the wax will melt - by making patterns or such - it is not possible.
Also the foam was put between the heat press. I wanted to do this because I tried to put wax on my fabric with a sponge which gave a super nice effect. I was wondering if I could capture the texture of foam.
